Wooden Wick Candle Care

When lighting the wick, hold the flame (preferably a lighter) against the wick until the entire width of the wick is lit. Usually about 15-20 full seconds.

Burn until the melt pool reaches the sides of the jar-Should be approx. 4 hours.

Wood wicks burn slower and cleaner.

Before each burn make sure you trim the wick. This can be done by pinching the top of the wick and removing the burnt ends. You can also use fingernail clippers to trim. Once all is removed you can then re-light your wick. If you don't remove the burnt/black part you may have issues re-lighting.

Keep away from drafts while burning. Make sure the wick is trimmed to 1/4 inch. Never let the wick burn for longer than 4 hours. After 4 hours the wick will need re-trimming as the flame will begin to burn too large and this may discolor the wax and burn through the wax quicker. To avoid this, always make sure your wick is trimmed correctly and extinguish the flame after 4 hours.

You can solve almost any issue by trimming the wick where no burnt wood is showing but never trim too low or wax will cover the wick and extinguish the flame.

NEVER scoop wax out.
